She continues to get a bit stronger every day. All tubes have been removed, so she is much freer to move. Walking is a major part of her recuperation. Although the docs are responsive in providing pain medication, sometimes it doesn’t come soon enough. She is going through a major healing process. In meeting with the radiation and medical oncologists this past Monday, they recommend starting radiation and chemotherapy treatment in late November, 5 days a week for 5 weeks. This will be followed by another type of chemo treatment for an additional 6 months. Pancreatic cancer has a very high percentage of returning, so the docs want to reduce the odds of its return with this aggressive treatment. We haven't determined where this treatment will be taking place, but University of Michigan has a gastrointestinal cancer clinic, which is being recommended by the oncologists at Mayo Clinic. Please continue praying for her. That's huge.
