Nate's Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Nate's 9th birthday with a big family celebration with both sides of the family. Cathie's brother Ed and his wife Stacy couldn't be there because a tree fell through their roof the night before.

As always, these parties are a blast. We eat, we nap, we wrestle and get in big whip cream fights (okay, just my mother-in-law on the last couple, hence Nate's whip-cream covered face as he blows out the candle). Instead of nasty birthday cake, we made ice cream Sundaes. Some people got a little more creative than others with their sundaes:


Uncle Will always get in on the action, so the kids decided to play trampoline with him. I got a whole slew of pictures of hte kids launching about 5 feet off the top of the couch onto Will. They had fun. Will probably ruptured his spleen.

Growing up, my brother Dan didn't like to adknowledge the fact that he had younger siblings, so he's trying to make up for lost time in being nice to us now. Dan was being nice to Susan, so we figured we ought to capture it on film:
