We had Nate's first football practice last night. After about 20 minutes of practice, we had to call it because of lightning. The team's made up of 8 boys and 1 girl. The girl is a pure tomboy with a wicked strong arm and a set of wheels. While not the most experienced football coach in the world, the games are more about teaching the kids the fundamentals of the game and sportsmanship, and it's a great feeling to watch the kids light up when they make a big play or get some good affirmation for what they're doing.
After practice, we hung out last night and got caught up on American Idol as a family. We've got a pact that we won't watch it without everyone being there, which typically results in all of us accidentally finding out who won or lost prior to our watching the show. We still have fun doing it together.
