Church this morning was great. Shinn taught and we had a baptism. One of the high school guys in church who's had a life I wouldn't wish on anyone was baptized, along with his new son. In the middle of Shinn's message, someone's cell phone rang, a new person, and Shinn commented on it. I was curious if J had shut off his cell phone, so I called it. He hadn't. It rang. Loudly. For 30 seconds. Until Jess ran up, found it in J's bag and shut it off. I was amused. Very amused.
After church, the kids and I met up with my brother Dan and the kids at a nearby lake that they have a membership at. It's a private lake in the middle of some farmer's corn field that they pay an annual fee to use. Dan explained to me that it was clothing optional after 2pm. Boy was I embaressed to find out that he was only kidding.
Cathie got back this afternoon from her weekend at my parents with the girls. The kids were thrilled to see her. I wish I could say the house was immaculate. I'd planned on cleaning it today before Cathie got home, but instead we went swimming and I didn't get a chance to do much with it (see my earlier theory on not cleaning the house throughout the time Cathie's gone, and instead cleaning it all at once). I take off tomorrow for four days in the heart land. I go to Kansas City, then to Oaklahoma City and back to Kansas City.
