Chaos

Emily at ChaosWe had Chaos on Monday night and it was.... well... a little chaotic. We've been growing slowly but surely this year and yesterday we hit a new peak. We had 25 kids and 5 leaders crammed into a room, but it was a great feeling. I loved the fact that most of the kids that came brought friends. Cathie had small group last night, so Emily sat in the corner of the room, watching everything going on, reading her books and coloring in the midst of all of the craziness. Jason was teaching on spiritual disciplines, like prayer, and and at one point he asked the question, "How many of you pray?" Without most people even realizing she was back there, this little hand pops up and from back in the corner Em yells out, "I do, I do." Our meetings typically are 90 minutes long, and of that 90 minutes, 30-45 are small groups and the rest are games and up-front activities. I think we're in a good rhythm, but last night showed that we're short on leaders. The group of 6/7th graders I was leading was about 10 kids - tough for go real deep on stuff with that size group.
