Top Ten (+1) Reasons I'm Crazy about my Wife

  1. She's hot. Whether or not she's dressed up and wearing a smoking hot outfit on a date, or has her hair pulled back with no make up and hanging out in sweats and a t-shirt, or covered in mud - her beauty constantly catches me off guard and makes me smile.
  2. I travel a ton and when I'm gone, my wife is a rock for me. She manages our household and the schedules, homework and needs of the three kids without a complaint.
  3. She is my best friend in the world. In so many things, when I experience things without her, I feel like I haven't really experienced it because my soul is so connected to hers.
  4. She understands how important my friendships are in my life and isn't jealous of them. Cathie understands when I need to be around my friends and goes out of her way to help me find time to spend time with them. She sees how my friendships help meet a relational need instead of being threatened by them.
  5. My wife models sacrificial love for me. She serves and loves me in such a selfless way that I'm compelled to want to serve her back. Cathie never tries to do the 50/50 split on things. She always strives to give 100% and doesn't do it conditionally or in the "do a little dance for me because I cleaned the kitchen once this month" that I sometimes do.
  6. She brings out the best in me. She understands when I'm tired or grumpy and knows exactly how to help me, in a kind, loving, gentle way that draws me out of my funk.
  7. Most people won't believe this, but Cathie has almost the same kind of sense of humor as I do. We laugh together so much - both at things that our kids do, things that other people do and stuff we see on TV or in life.
  8. She is the most genuine, transparent person I know. She is who she is and I love who she is.
  9. She has a huge, soft heart. Her degree is in social work and she loves helping hurting people. She is so gentle and kind to others, adults and kids alike. My heart has softened and grown as I've learned from Cathie.
  10. She's an awesome Mom. From the beginning, she's been such a natural when it comes to knowing how to raise our three. I learn so much from her watching her parent our kids, spending time with them, having deep talks with them and having fun with them. I listen to the way she deals with tough questions from the kids and I just marvel at her responses. It's neat to see so much of Cathie rub off on who our kids are becoming.
  11. She is wise beyond her years. Cathie is one of the first people I go to when I need advice. , I trust Cathie's judgment implicitly. When Cathie gives me a certain look or shares a quick thought about something where I might have crossed the line or just plain missed something, I give it huge weight. She's calm and cool and collected when I'm not and gives me advice in just the way I need to hear it at the given time.

Is it your anniversary or did you do something wrong to write such a sweet thing about Cathie?

Sherry, when you're in love, you just can't hold this stuff in. I'm sure there was a time you felt this way about Bill. Right? Right?

Tell Bill and the boys they should come over on Thanksgiving night for poker? I promise that Jon and I won't wrestle.
