Skype

This is cool. Skype (a VoIP/IM client) is now offering free Skype to US-based phone calls, meaning you can now use the Skype client to call people on the phone. There are toolbars you can get that allow integration into Microsoft Outlook so you can dial right from a contact. I can sit in front of my laptop in my office or at a hotel, look up a contact, hit a button and call the person over my laptop. The only downside is that the caller ID comes up with a funky number and unknown name. Otherwise, it rocks.
