how do you like flickr? you'd told me about it at velocity last year i think and we're now trying to find the best way to put up middle school pictures for the kids to see, since what we have now uploads slower than i'd like, along w/ other quirks. flickr seems to be a nice site that organizes the files well too.
I love flickr. It works great for ad-hoc image hosting, but it doesn't really have folder capabilities. I setup my own photo gallery (http://photos.davekurt.com/xampp/gallery2/ )that works better for this kind of thing. You can look at options for this type of service here: http://gallery.menalto.com/wiki/Web_Hosting_Referral_Page
Picasa online is free if you consider having to pay money for a service "free". What a strange little world you live in Dan. I wonder what color the sky is in your world.

Google also has a nice application. It is free and it works in conjunction with Picasa.

Picasa online is free unless you feel the need to put up 500 poster size images. the "gallery" is free too when it is working.
