National Losers

For the big game yesterday, a bunch of us from church went up to the Youth Room at our church property to watch the game. It's pretty nicely decked out - with two big video screens (one for the game, one for XBox) couches all over and Bob Ray's grilling. The whole clan of Ray's boys were there, including Joe, who you see duct taped above. The duct tape started as a threat if Joe didn't quiet down. Joe was cracking me up the whole time between his climbing around and trying to get me to tape up his brothers, himself, and giving him a foot slapping. He would climb up on the couch with me, watching the game for 30 seconds and then bounce off the walls som emore. I can't help but smile when Joe's around.

At half time we played football outside - the old guys vs. the young guys. I'm old enough now to be in the "old guy" category. Right off the bat, we figured we couldn't beat them on speed alone, so we went to a zone defense and ended up smoking them - 21 to 7.

Cathie went to a girl's poker party yesterday. One of the guys in neighborhood threw a birthday part for his wife and invited a bunch of other wives in the neighborhood and he taught them all how to play poker. Following in my footsteps, Cathie ended up winning some money. I think Eli would actually stand a good chance of winning for once against this group of girls.

I know it's hard to believe, but Joe really likes this duck tape thing. Joanne actually started this with Sam and Joe this past summer at the cottage and it's one of Joe's favorites.
